Our private clients are seeking a live-in Housekeeper for their 6-bedroom second residence and 3 pet dogs based in West Sussex. The property is home to a couple who spend most of their time overseas.
This role will entail all hands-on housekeeping (cleaning, tidying, laundry, bed linen changes, organising etc) of the large property. As the home is occupied by just 2 adults who are often not in residence, a large part of the property will just need regular dusting and periodic deeper cleaning whilst some areas that are used more regularly will need daily attention to maintain high standards of order and cleanliness in the home. There will also be some extra duties such household errands like parcel collecting and shopping, booking/ dealing with tradespeople when required, pick up dry cleaning, taking clothes to the charity shop, giving the family a lift to the local station etc and in general any duty in relation to the upkeep of the property and ensuring its readiness for the principal’s arrival.
As the clients travel so frequently, a large part of this role will include dog care for the families 3 dogs who live there permanently. As well as feeding, walking, trips to vets/groomers, and any other duty in relation to caring for the pets, the candidate will be expected to take responsibility for the dogs as if they were their own in the principal’s absence and they will be more than welcome to stay in your private accommodation if preferred.
The ideal candidate will have experience in private housekeeping, ideally a live-in role or second residence. It is essential that applicants are dog lovers, feel confident managing/ taking responsibility for multiple dogs and have proven experience caring for dogs in either a professional or personal capacity.
Working hours: Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 16:30 (plus dog care outside of these hours)
Accommodation: Newly renovated, 2-bedroom private lake barn (all bills included)
Start date: ASAP
Salary: £40,000 gross per year
Unless otherwise specified, a minimum of 2 years relevant experience is required to receive the advertised rate of pay.
