Our HNW client is looking for an experienced Senior Housekeeper to manage the upkeep of their 10-bedroom, 3-storey home near Hungerford.
This is a hands-on and demanding role, working for a family of five with young children, best suited to someone fit, energetic, and confident, as they will be the sole housekeeper initially, working closely with a nanny and estate staff to ensure the smooth operation of the household.
You will take full responsibility for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation, with additional duties including wardrobe management, occasional light personal assistant tasks, and some formal household responsibilities, such as greeting guests and serving refreshments.
The ideal candidate will be discreet, proactive, and exceptionally well-presented, with a keen eye for detail and strong kitchen skills, including the ability to prepare family meals when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Organising and maintaining the family’s wardrobes, including seasonal changes and garment care.
- All laundry and ironing.
- Carrying out general cleaning duties to uphold the high standards of a luxury home.
- Managing errands such as parcel drop-offs, dry cleaning, online shopping, and other small tasks.
- Preparing family meals when required.
- Flower arrangements.
- Monitoring and restocking pantry items and household supplies.
- Assisting with basic care for the family’s spaniel when required.
Requirements:
- Proven track record in a similar role within a HNW household.
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Physically fit and capable of handling the demands of a large home.
- Confident in the kitchen, with the ability to cook family meals and assist with entertaining.
- Knowledge of cleaning procedures, materials and techniques.
- Comfortable collaborating within a team environment.
- Must hold a valid UK driving licence and be able to commute daily if the candidate opts to live out.
- Willingness to accommodate occasional weekend work or adapt to the family’s needs.
- Highly professional and well-presented.
- Child & dog friendly (one cocker spaniel)
Working Days/Hours: 8.30am – 6.30pm ; Monday to Friday + average two weekends per month with time off in lieu OR 4 days in the week and one day in the weekend, every week
Accommodation: Separate accommodation, one bedroom, living room and kitchen, partner welcome
Salary: £45-55k DOE
