Our private clients are currently seeking a Family Assistant for their fully staffed household in Holland Park. The couple have 2 dogs and have a second residence in the countryside.
This role will require a candidate with extensive experience working in private residences for UHNW clients who has gained an in-depth understanding of what is required to ensure the smooth running of both a residence and family life. In this role, you will require a dynamic skill set, excellent initiative, strong communication and a flexible attitude as you will be the principals first port of call when it comes to matter relating to the household. This role is both hands-on and managerial so applicants must have both skill sets (gained through previous roles) and be happy with this balance.
Duties will include (but not limited to):
- Supervising and managing 2 housekeepers (occasionally assisting with hands-on housekeeping when required)
- Liaising with other staff at the property including gardeners and a PA
- Taking care of the property, fine furniture, artwork, fabrics and special finishes
- Welcoming and taking care of guests
- Setting and laying of tables
- Food and drink service
- Provisioning for the house
- Occasionally cooking simple, fresh, healthy meals as required
- Wardrobe management
- Liaise with the Family Office to enable a smooth and efficient day to day running of the residence
- Driving errands as required
- Light maintenance tasks like changing lightbulbs, paint touch ups, etc
- You may be asked to accompany the family when they travel or travel in advance to prepare for their arrival, so must be happy to travel within the UK and overseas.
The ideal candidate will have a background (5+ years) as a Butler or Senior/Head Housekeeper who has also undertaken house management duties and be both highly discreet and able to work in the background without supervision.
Hours/Days: Monday to Friday; 10am - 6pm (with flexibility when required)
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 gross per year (depending on experience)
Accommodation: 2-bedroom terrace house nearby
