- Description
Our private clients are seeking a highly experienced, sole Housekeeper/ All-rounder for their busy family of 5 living in Notting Hill. The 3 children (aged 9, 11 13) spend alternating weeks living in the property so this role will be somewhat like a rota position, with a very busy week/heavy workload when the Housekeeper will be required to work more hours, followed by a much quieter week with less hours and much smaller workload.
This role will entail working autonomously as the families sole Housekeeper and taking responsibility for the seamless running of the family home. As well as all housekeeping and cleaning to very high standards, plus some specialist care of silverware, fine art, china etc, the Housekeeper will be expected to be proactive in their role ensuring the house is organised, well stocked and in good working order so this will mean there may be duties like inventories, shopping, arranging and dealing with tradespeople and perhaps other duties that may be required to keep the home running like clockwork. Their role will also include family cooking (plus occasionally cooking for more people too), some pet care (the family have a fox terrier dog), and running errands. Their Housekeeper will also be expected to travel with the family to their second residences in France and the UK countryside, and potentially accompanying them on family holidays. For this role, flexibility on working days/hours is crucial.
The ideal candidate will be highly professional and discreet who can respect the family’s boundaries and personal space and is confident to work without supervision. Being a driver is essential.
Working days & hours: Contracted hours are 40 hours per week split as per below -
Week 1: 55/60 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 7am – 8pm but with flexibility to work evenings and weekends if needed
Week 2: 15/ 20 hours per week across Monday – Friday (with flexibility to work around family’s schedule)
Any additional hours worked above the contracted 40 per week will be given back as time off in lieu.
Start date: ASAP
Salary: £45,000 gross per year
Unless otherwise specified a minimum of 3 years relevant experience is required to receive the advertised rate of pay
