Our private client is seeking a live-in Cook/ Housekeeper for their large property, occupied by a single principal (who occasionally hosts guests) located in Bagshot, Surrey.
The main focus of this role will be on daily cooking, the principal enjoys simple, yet nutritious, tasty food cooked from scratch with fresh ingredients (soups, stews, grilled meats/ fish with vegetables etc). Other duties will include housekeeping, laundry, organising the home and general upkeep of the property as well as some household/ grocery shopping, occasional errands.
The daily schedule will roughly follow this pattern –
8am – laying out/ preparing a simple breakfast and clearing away
9am – 2pm – laundry and housekeeping, shopping/ errands and preparing and serving lunch
2pm – 4:30 – long break
4:30pm – 6:30 – any remaining housekeeping duties plus preparation and service of dinner
The ideal candidate will be organised and pro-active, who is happy to work methodically and thoroughly using their own initiative to maintain high standards in the home without guidance or supervision. Whilst meals will be home cooking family style food, you should be a passionate and confident cook who can prepare delicious food effortlessly and easily follow recipes and creativity use up leftover ingredients. Above all, the candidate will have a sunny disposition and positive attitude, who is looking to build a long-term, close relationship with their employer and who would enjoy being considered part of the family.
A good level of English and being a driver is essential (ideally with own car, but this is not a deal breaker)
Working days/hours: Core hours are Monday – Friday, 7:30/8am – 6:30pm (with long break, 8 – 8.5 working hours per day)
The candidate should be able to offer some flexibility on request
Accommodation: Private annex/ self-contained flat with separate entrance (bedroom, bathroom, small kitchen and living/dining area) All bills included (except TV licence)
Start date: ASAP
Salary: £32,000 - £36,000 gross per year (depending on skills and experience)
Unless otherwise specified a minimum of 3 years relevant experience is required to receive the advertised rate of pay
