On behalf of our private client, we are recruiting for a Live-in Housekeeper in Belgravia to join a team of 2 members of staff (House Manager & another Housekeeper) to ensure safe keeping and smooth running of the family residence.
The family does not live in the UK full time and when they are visiting the Housekeeper should be flexible with working hours, however one family member is residence 9 months of the year.
When they are in residence the house runs with a morning and evening shift shared between the Housekeepers and Temporary staff (if required).
The Housekeeper should be flexible with days off (always 2 a week but not always on the weekend) and the shift is 10:00AM – 6:00PM or 11:00AM – 7:00PM depending on the client’s requirements.
Duties required:
- Collaborate with the property manager to ensure the property is kept in top condition, clean, safe, and secure always.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills when liaising with the property manager, staff, VIP guests and residents.
- Respond to family requests such as ordering taxis, running errands & organising dry cleaning.
- Cleaning of antiques, fine China, silverware, and other items in the household. This includes laundry, windows, floor treatments, dusting, polishing, vacuuming, care of upholstery, fabric, glass, leather, etc., and careful attention to the cleaning of antiques.
- Service all areas regularly and cleaning schedule to include regular deep cleaning of bathrooms/kitchens and details such as preventing lime scale build up and running taps regularly to keep water pipes fresh etc.
- Liaise with the property manager regarding any/all maintenance issue relating to the property and oversee contractors doing work in the property.
- Familiarise yourself and become confident with fire systems/alarm systems and AV systems etc.
- Manage expenses for cleaning supplies, non-perishables etc to a budget.
Duties - when the family are in residence:
- Ensure that all areas of the house are maintained including turn up & turn down as well as the clients personal staff areas.
- Ensure Laundry is done to client’s preferences (e.g. separate client/staff laundry and use preferred products etc.)
- Liaise with the chefs/staff to ensure house is fully stocked.
- Adhere to a dress code when the client is in residence.
Accommodation: An en suite bedroom in the staff level and use of the staff kitchen facilities.
Salary: £35-40K gross per annum
Unless otherwise specified a minimum of 2 years relevant experience is required to receive the advertised rate of pay.
