Live-in Housekeeper in Blackheath

Our private client is seeking a live-in full-time housekeeper for their London property located in Blackheath South East of London.

This is a wonderful and exciting opportunity, to look after a lovely VIP client sharing your expertise and skills.

The ideal candidate will be someone who has previously held a similar housekeeping role for a good period of time at some point (many years preferably).

This is a role working in a similar house - which is large, filled with precious objects and looked after to a very high standard, flexible to cover other property in (Central) London, possess an eye for detail and happy to cover staff holidays when required.

Cooking and driving whilst useful skills would be a bonus (but not essential) for this position.

Accommodation;

Your very own separate spacious flat, overlooking fabulous views of Greenwich, within excellent location of good transport links.

You will be expected to generally maintain the property, keeping it tidy and in good order.

Take care of any artwork or other items stored at the property ensuring that such items are stored correctly. Please be advised (bills for the accommodation will be covered by the client).

Working Days/Hours: Monday - Friday 7:30am - 5pm (breaks taken throughout the day)

(half day Saturday when clients or guests are staying in residence)

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 gross per year (depending on experience)

Daily duties but not limited too:

• A high standard of housekeeping, and have an eye for detail


• Miscellaneous domestic duties including tidying and cleaning all the rooms, keeping refrigerators clean and discarding out-of-date items, cleaning ovens, making beds, cleaning garden furniture etc.


• Caring (in the prescribed manner) for pieces of fine art, furniture and silverware


• Washing all clothes and bedlinen


• High standards of ironing


• Sending items for dry cleaning


• Managing wardrobes


• Cooking, and making daily juices for breakfast


• Communicating in person, over the phone and via email with tradesmen, suppliers and contractors, and providing selective access to tradesmen


• Answering the door and basic house security


• Liaising with the PA and maintenance companies on any issues / problems in the house, which includes contacting maintenance companies and arranging for maintenance staff to come and address problems under the direction of the PA


• Liaising with the PA on all other matters, in particular in relation to grocery shopping


• Shopping in the local village or in Greenwich for the Employer and the PA


• Inventory control and purchasing of food, basic staples and toiletries


• Buying and arranging flowers for the Employer’s properties


• Good levels of verbal and IT literacy, including emailing / texting and otherwise communicating clearly with the PA and the Employer and being able to order items for the house online if requested


• Assisting at dinner parties which may be during the day or in the evening


• Run errands when requested (Post Office, Dry cleaning etc…)

Unless otherwise specified a minimum of 3 years relevant experience is required to receive the advertised rate of pay
