Native English-speaking Governor/Governess in Latvia

Our private client relocating from London to Latvia are looking for a Native English speaking, experienced childcare professional to support their 2 young children: 7yr old boy and 5yr old girl in Jurmala. 

The family

They are due to stay in Latvia for 2 years before returning to London and they are keen for the children to retain their connection to the UK and their Native Level of English.  

The children will be attending an international school in Latvia and the Governor/Governess must be experienced in looking after children at this age and assisting with homework as well as providing additional tutoring, in preparation for UK school exams. 

The family are expecting a 3rd child in September for whom they already have a Nanny. 

Other staff include a Driver, Housekeeper and Butler/Chef. 

The ideal Governor/Governess must be native English speaking, have good academic qualifications must have previous experience in similar roles, flexible approach, disciplined and self-motivated, actively engage with the children and enjoy the outdoors, Driver - not essential but preferred (Governor/Governess in own benefit / independence)

Work Hours/Schedule:  

During school term-time: 7:00AM – 9:00AM and 3:00PM – 8:00PM, Mon to Fri (no weekend work required).  The family normally holiday alone during school holidays

Duties include:

• Prepare the children for school and take them to school (with the Driver)


• Collect the children from school in the afternoon (with the Driver)


• Take the children to after-school activities and clubs


• Oversee and help the children with homework


• Provide additional tutoring in core subjects

Accommodation: Private apartment provided

Salary: from £1K per week

Start date:  September 2024

Unless otherwise specified a minimum of 2 years relevant experience is required to receive the advertised rate of pay.
